
| Professional ActivitiesSusan Taft, Ph.D., College of Nursing, was selected as the 2005 recipient of the Excellence in Education award by the Ohio Nurses Association (ONA). This award will be given at the association’s annual convention in October. Almaz Tolymbek, Political Science doctoral candidate, presented a paper on “Higher Education in a Market and Trade-oriented Society: Kazakhstan's Educational Reforms as an Import of Western Market Ideas” at the 11th Annual Conference of Central and Inner Asia Studies (Theme: "Traders and Trade Routes of Central and Inner Asia: The 'Silk Road', Then and Now") held at the Asian Institute, University of Toronto, Canada, May 13-14. Marcia Zeng and Athena Salaba, School of Library and Information Science, presented “Toward an International Sharing and Use of Subject Authority Data” at the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) 21st Century Catalogues: An Invitational Workshop in Dublin, Ohio, May 2-4.
