Legal Brief: Ethics Presentation

Under Ohio law, as it applies to state ethics statutes, Kent State University is a public agency and all university employees are subject to Ohio Ethics Law. In the Feb. 20 e-Inside Legal Brief, University Counsel discussed ethics for employees of Kent State University. University Counsel is hosting an Ohio Ethics Law presentation in the Moulton Hall Ballroom on Tuesday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Susan Willeke, education coordinator, Ohio Ethics Commission, will be presenting. The presentation topics will include:

• Conflict of interest,
• Gifts,
• Supplemental compensation,
• Post-employment restrictions,
• Representation restrictions,
• Confidentiality, and
• Public contract restraints.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. Beverages and refreshments will be provided.
