Carolyn Rugg, a junior interior design student, creates a model playhouse for the Kent State United for the Gulf Coast effort. Several playhouses were built and will be auctioned off on March 17 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom to help defray student costs and purchase materials for the upcoming spring break trip to Biloxi, Miss.

Items for auction will include 8’ x 8’ outdoor playhouses designed by Kent State interior design students and built by students, faculty and staff with the support of Habitat for Humanity of Portage County. In addition to the playhouses, other items of varying value and size will be auctioned. The committee is accepting gift items and donations from individuals and businesses. Donors will be noted in the auction program as contributors.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages and desserts will be provided at the event. Tickets cost is $10 for students, and $30 for non-students. Sponsorships are available at the $50, $75 and $100 level.
