Job Description: I teach courses and conduct research in areas related to park management, outdoor recreation and tourism. Worked for Kent State University Since: August 2004 Employment Prior to Kent State University: I worked for the United States Forest Service, the National Park Service and was also a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda, Africa. Likes Most About Kent State University: I like the students the most. There are some wonderful young people here. I am also very happy with the Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, which creates fantastic international opportunities for students and faculty. Attraction to Kent State University as an employer: I grew up in Akron so when the opportunity arose to come back to my home area and give something back to Northeast Ohio, it was too good to pass up. Resides in: Kent, Ohio Hometown: Akron, Ohio Education: Bachelor of Science, mathematical economics, Wake Forest University Master of Science, natural resource management, Oregon State University Ph.D., Recreation, Park and Tourism Management, University of Florida Hobbies: Visiting nearby parks with my family (wife and two young boys) to hike, bike, explore, wade, splash, jump and romp. In quieter times, I like reading or picking on an old guitar.
