Human Resources Question of the Week: When is the meeting to find more about the proposed changes to the Ohio Public Employee Retirement and the State Teachers Retirement Systems?

Kent State will host an informational meeting on Tuesday, June 22, in Room 204 of the Kent Student Center. Representatives from OPERS and STRS will be on campus to explain the proposed changes and how those changes will be implemented if they are passed by the state legislature.

The OPERS session will be held at 10:30 a.m., and the STRS session will be held at 1:30 p.m. Each session will last approximately 75 minutes and will include a question and answer period. Because seating is limited, the sessions will also be streamed live on the web and recorded for future viewing online. The links for both will be available on the Faculty/Staff page of the Kent State website at Look for the links, beginning on June 22, in the Current Highlights section on that page. The links to the live streams will also be posted at for STRS and for OPERS during the sessions

Once there, click on “facilitator-led learning opportunities” and look for the appropriate session on June 22. Please note that employees who attend the seminar must take the appropriate leave time, which includes vacation or comp time.
