Time Capsule to Go Underground Until 2060

Return to Events

As part of Kent State University’s Centennial celebration this year, the university will hold a dedication ceremony to bury the 2010 time capsule on Aug. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at Risman Plaza. Kent State University President Lester A. Lefton will read a proclamation and share a few remarks about the time capsule. It will then be sealed and buried under Risman Plaza, near the Kiva.

“There it will rest until 2060, waiting to be opened,” says Pamela Jones, academic program and student development coordinator and a member of Kent State’s Centennial Committee.
