"The Link" is being given a color update.
Among the upgrades:
Eight restrooms — including those located in the library area, first floor computer lab area and second floor science lab area — have undergone complete demolition in preparation for remodel.
The hand railings, ceiling and lighting located in the lobby/commons area of the Classroom/Administration Building are being removed and replaced with new fixtures and railings that match the 2009 remodeling of another staircase in the same building. The handrail upgrades will see the more “Brady Bunch”-style wooden railings replaced with a modern vanilla wood, glass and stainless steel combination.
The elevator in the Commons area is seeing the removal and rebuild of the unit’s riser jack.
The Link – which connects the Classroom/Administration Building with the Library/Theatre Building is getting a rousing dose of color as all of the classrooms and hallways are being painted. So long generic vanilla and hello to waves of maroon, chocolate and tan! Additionally, many of the old and worn storefront glass door entryways in both the Classroom/Administration and Library/Theatre buildings are being updated with new energy efficient replacements. Look for all of these renovations and improvements to be completed in time for the beginning of the fall semester. By Robb King |
