During her life she was a strong advocate for individuals with autism, especially for her own son, Sky Walker. Steuernagel’s untimely passing has raised questions about the benefits coverage the university provides for those with this developmental disorder.

Dr. Betsy V. Boze, who has served as the dean of Kent State University's Stark Campus, has announced her decision to step down from the dean’s role for personal reasons, effective immediately. Dr. Ruth Capasso, associate dean for academic affairs at Kent State’s Stark Campus, will oversee operations at the Stark Campus for the immediate future.
