Lefton notes that each year the Symposium on Democracy explores a “critical question for our democratic society,” in the hope that “democracy can lead to a more peaceful world.” This year’s symposium, to be held May 4-5, “Re-membering: Framing, Embracing, Revising History,” examines how a society remembers and writes or "frames" its history — as the symposium graphic suggests.
