Over the summer Kent State University Intercollegiate Athletics received word that it had placed second nationally in the 2009 Excellence in Management Cup awards competition. The honor, presented by Texas A&M University’s Laboratory for the Study of Intercollegiate Athletics, garners the department and the university national exposure for exceptional management capability.

With the roll out of the Graduation Planning System, undergraduate students will have a clear, step-by-step path from their first semester to graduation. In addition, an online graduation application for use by all eight campuses is in development.

New Public Safety Training Program Prepares Classroom First Responders

The Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate, or ALICE training, is now offered at Kent State University. ALICE is crisis training created by two Texas law enforcement officers soon after the Columbine shootings occurred. The training has been adopted by many educational law enforcement institutions in Ohio and throughout the United States.
