Kent State University Press, Indiana University Press and Temple University Press have been awarded a five-year implementation grant of $877,000 by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to develop and publish Ethnomusicology Multimedia, a collaborative series of first books in ethnomusicology to be accompanied by a Web-based platform for hosting audio and video materials integral to the authors’ research. To ensure Kent State’s ability to provide students now and in the future with a world-class education, the Board authorized the university to proceed with the next steps in developing a plan for major capital improvements at the Kent Campus, including the rehabilitation of aging buildings and construction of new buildings. The plan is likely to include the issuance of General Receipts Bonds to finance the improvements. Read More
As a result of this year’s successful incentive program, Kent State University will award to 819 continuing faculty members in the Tenured/Tenure Track collective bargaining unit a share of the Success Pool in recognition of their contributions to the university.
