Kent State’s learning communities have offered linked courses in the past, allowing students to enroll in each of their classes with the same group of students. Laing Kennedy isn’t hard to find at Kent State University. Unlike a lot of athletic directors, his office is always open. On certain nights, after games in the MAC center, he can be found cleaning and folding chairs in the empty gymnasium. On June 30, 2010, Kennedy will fold his last chair and finally close his office door as he retires from a 16-year stint as the athletic director for Kent State University. Fans, coaches and players will pay tribute to him at the MAC Center during the Feb. 17 men’s basketball game against Ohio University. Read More
