Kent State University recently announced the appointment of Terry Schwarz as the director of the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative. Schwarz previously served as interim director of the collaborative. Her work includes neighborhood and campus planning, commercial and residential design guidelines, and green infrastructure design strategies.

Innovative Curriculum Grant Awardees Are Reinventing Excellence

As part of a large effort to increase student retention, meet goals for student learning and increase graduation rates, Kent State University awarded 10 academic teams $6,000 each in support of group initiatives to review and redesign programs and major curriculums. The Innovative Curriculum Redesign Grant, which was awarded for the first time in spring 2010, is about rethinking and redesigning curricula to increase learning and job preparedness.

The 1960 Kent State Time Capsule: Simply Lost or Merely Legend?

Somewhere on Kent State University’s campus is a 1960 time capsule bearing the memories and stories of yesteryear just waiting to be uncovered — at least that’s what some say. An organized effort to unearth a time capsule that is mentioned in old Daily Kent Stater newspaper articles and other documents has only proven that it was mentioned, not that it actually exists.
