Profiles of Excellence in Action

Kent State University at Stark partnered with LifeShare Community Blood Services to collect a record-breaking total of 653 units of blood throughout the 2009-10 academic year from students, faculty and staff and community members, during four on-campus blood drives. As an incentive to the campus, $500 in scholarship funds were given to Kent State Stark for every 35 blood donors.

President’s Award Showcases Excellence

Nominations for the second President’s Excellence Award will be accepted beginning Aug. 9 through Sept. 10. Kent State University President Lester A. Lefton established the award program in 2009 as a way to reward staff members who demonstrate their daily commitment to carrying out the university’s Excellence Agenda.

Aviation Heritage Fair Takes to the Skies for Its 15th Year

The 15th Annual Aviation Heritage Fair will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Kent State University Airport, 4020 Kent Road in Stow. The fair is hosted by Kent State University’s Aeronautics Program, in partnership with the city of Stow and the Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club.
