The University System of Ohio is seeking nominations for its 2011 "Faculty Innovator Awards." A team of researchers at Kent State University has discovered a new version of a widely used scientific technique. The technique is electrophoresis, in which an applied electric field is used to move particles dispersed in a fluid, and the new idea is to use a liquid crystal as the carrier fluid.
