Lend a Helping Hand With Summer of Service
Kent State staff, faculty and students: get involved in the new Summer of Service program. Volunteers can choose from one-time-only and on-going projects during a variety of times and dates to accommodate busy schedules. All you need is the desire to pitch in!
Current volunteer options range from working with children at the King-Kennedy Community Center to providing arts and crafts activities to the city of Kent to helping out at area community service agencies.
Participants will receive a certificate of involvement based on number of service hours performed. Service hours are to be self-reported.
If you’d like to get involved or have questions, please contact Matt Haramis at mharamis@kent.edu , 330-672-8010, or Ann Gosky , agosky@kent.edu , 330-672-8004. Or visit 226 Kent Student Center for more information.

More than 70 balloons are expected to participate in the 2007 Balloon Classic Invitational at the Kent State Stark Campus.
|
The annual event kicks off the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival and draws thousands to the Stark Campus for a night of family-oriented fun.
Each year, Kent State Stark hosts a tent for alumni and friends of the university and campus. The tent provides front-row seats for viewing the hot air balloons in competitive flight – and on Saturday night — to enjoy an impressive fireworks display.
A limited number of “best seat” tickets — providing a view of the hot air balloons, buffet and beverages, and reserved parking at the Professional Education and Conference Center — are available first-come, first-served.
Tickets cost $25 per person for Kent State Alumni Association members and $30 for nonmembers. The cost for children ages 1-12 is $10. Because of limited seating in the tent, there is a limit of six tickets per reservation.
For ticket reservations, call the Alumni Office at Kent State Stark at 330-244-3223.
