March Lunch and Learn: Nutrition on a Budget

Posted March 11, 2013

The second 2013 Lunch and Learn presentation, titled “Nutrition on a Budget,” will take place on March 21 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 310 at the Kent Student Center. Vic Geremia, head fitness professional and director of nutritional development and programming at Health 360 in Mayfield Village, Ohio, is the presenter.

“Nutrition on a Budget” is a well-rounded practical approach to making sure your body is getting the best nutrients available without breaking the bank. This presentation teaches a lot of lost techniques for saving money with the current food you are buying and employs new ideas on healthy choices to help make ends meet for your body, as well as your waistline. Topics that are covered are shopping strategies, cost saving techniques, planning, waste reduction, selection and preparation of healthy foods that are worth every penny.

Geremia has his B.S. in Sports Medicine, is a licensed Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He has presented for numerous local corporations on several health and wellness topics that reflect his overall professional philosophy and passion for a healthy lifestyle.

The Lunch and Learn programs are sponsored by the Division of Human Resources and are held in conjunction with Impact, the university’s employee assistance program. The hour-long programs are free and open to faculty and staff. However, seating is limited and reservations are required. Employees will have the opportunity to purchase pre-packaged healthy lunches to enjoy during the presentation. To place a food order, you must register by Monday, March 18. This information is available on the registration form. Register here.
