Posted Sept. 5, 2011The 30th Annual Black Squirrel Festival will take place Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. near Manchester Field and the Memorial Gardens, adjacent to the Kent Student Center. The Black Squirrel Festival is one of Kent State's most beloved and popular traditions.
At the daylong festival, students can experience a great sampling of what the Kent community has to offer. Students will have the opportunity to receive free promotional items, learn about student organizations and create memories with new and old friends. Free live music, festival food and Black Squirrel spirit will all be a part of this year's event. Entertainment includes a free photo booth, caricature artists and musicians such as Katie-Ann, DJ Fiasko, Vick Searey, La Verite, Silka Hilton and Exit Cleveland. At 11 p.m., Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be shown in Manchester Field.
Please encourage students to attend one of Kent State's most beloved events where they can meet friends and celebrate a new school year. The entire university community is also welcome to attend.
The rain location for the festival is the Kent Student Center Ballroom, and the rain location for the movie is the Kiva.
