Kent State University at Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia is holding a special Season Unveiling on July 27 to announce the 34 events scheduled for the Performing Arts Center’s 2011-2012 season. Tickets are $25 for this event, which begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes live entertainment, hearty hors d’oeuvres and a chance to win two tickets to every production for the upcoming season.
“We think this will be a unique way to announce the second season of our Performing Arts Center,” says Mike Morelli, general manager. “We will have a fun, interactive, multimedia game to provide clues as to which shows will be coming next year. The person who correctly identifies the most shows will win two tickets to all of the listed performances. Those attending the party will have the first opportunity to buy tickets for the season.”
Proceeds from the $25 ticket price will go toward the Performing Arts Endowment fund, which will be used in the future to underwrite various endeavors such as the Class Act Series for students in grades K-12.
“This year’s Class Act Series features six educational performances,” adds Morelli. “Class Acts is a program which brings high-caliber performances from all over the nation and world. Area students can attend these daytime performances for a $1 ticket price.”
Season Unveiling tickets can be purchased in person at the Performing Arts Center box office, online at www.tusc.kent.edu/pac or by calling 330-308-6400. The Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas is located at 330 University Dr. NE, New Philadelphia. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
