State University at Ashtabula community.

Beverly Warren, Kent State University’s new president, wants to learn what makes the university so exceptional and how we can share our unique story with the world. On July 1, her first day as the university’s leader, Warren began this quest by embarking on a listening tour.

Over the next six months, Kent State’s 12th president will hold a series of meetings with key constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, community and business leaders, legislators and other audiences. The Presidential Listening Tour offers the Kent State community an opportunity to provide input, share experiences and make recommendations directly to President Warren. The information gathered will be used to set the course for the university’s future and shape its strategic vision.

“My top priority is to meet with as many members of the Kent State community as possible,” Warren says. “I want to hear from all different perspectives about what makes people most proud of Kent State, how we can become even better and how we can continue to build upon the university’s tremendous, positive momentum it has experienced. A shared vision is the best vision, and that is why it is critical that all voices are heard as we shape Kent State’s future.”

Stops on the Presidential Listening Tour, called “the Heart of Kent State,” include the Kent Campus, the university’s seven Regional Campuses throughout Northeast Ohio, various cities around the state, including Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Columbus, and select locations across the nation, including New York, Chicago and Orlando. The tour kicked off July 1 at Kent State University at Ashtabula.
