Let Weight Watchers Help You Keep Your New Year's Resolution

Posted Jan. 24, 2011

Losing weight is a common New Year's resolution, and one that is often broken. If losing weight is one of your resolutions, consider joining the Weight Watchers at Work program.

OneWellU, the university's wellness program, and the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will offer a spring session of Weight Watchers at Work. In 2010, Kent State Weight Watchers at Work members collectively lost more than 400 pounds.

An information and registration session will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at noon in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The 12-week session is scheduled to begin the following week on Feb.1; meetings will be held on Tuesdays at noon in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

Weight Watcher's has a new Points Plus program and online e-Tools to make loosing weight much easier while still enjoying many of the foods you like to eat.

The cost is $144 per participant, which can be paid in full or in three installments of $48. Payment may be turned in at the informational meeting or before the first regular meeting. There is an incentive program for employees who have medical coverage through Medical Mutual of Ohio. Information on the program is available on the OneWellU website.

A minimum of 15 paid memberships prior to the start of the first regular meeting are required in order to hold Weight Watchers at Work meetings.

If you are interested in participating in Weight Watchers at Work, plan on attending the Jan. 25 meeting or contact Marlo Kibler, benefits coordinator, at 330-672-8320 or mkibler5@kent.edu.
