Kent State University at Salem participated in the Feed the Salem Community Pantry-Fat Tuesday Celebration by serving up homemade haluski and bourbon bread pudding. The Mardi Gras-themed event was a joint effort of the Salem Community Center, Rotary Club and Kiwanis to raise funds for the Salem Community Pantry.

Tables circled the Salem Community Center’s gymnasium, each featuring a different food option from various businesses and organizations in Salem.

Serving as “celebrity chefs” from Kent State Salem were Assistant Dean Celeste Oprean; Jan Gibson, senior director of the radiologic technology program; Mary Lou Ferranto, director of the nursing program; Andrea Corbisello, assistant professor of nursing; and Sondra O’Donnell, administrative assistant for nursing.
