Posted Oct. 19, 2015Effective Jan. 1, 2016, Ohio law (House Bill 201) has lowered the age limit for adult dependents enrolled in university-sponsored health plan coverage from age 28 to 26. This change in the law will not impact your currently enrolled adult dependent (as long as they meet the eligibility requirements); he or she may remain on the plan until the end of the month of their 28th birthday.
However, dependent children turning 26 on or after Dec. 31, 2015, will no longer be eligible for coverage, except in the case of physical or intellectual disability.
