record-breaking fashion.

WKSU-FM's recently completed Fall Fund Drive was one of the most successful campaigns in the station's history. Kent State University's award-winning public radio station received 2,209 pledges totaling $435,215.90 by phone and online during the 10-day effort. The total shattered the goal of $350,000 by more than $85,000.

Public radio fund drives are the most cost-effective way for WKSU-FM, a noncommercial radio station, to connect with those who are using its services and generate resources to pay for its business operations. WKSU-FM conducts two major fund drives each year, in spring and fall. More than 70 percent of the station's revenues come from the community, including both individuals and corporate supporters.

WKSU-FM broadcasts National Public Radio (NPR) programming, classical music, folk music and at 89.7 FM, and is a service of Kent State University. The WKSU-FM stations also include repeater stations WKRW-FM 89.3 in Wooster, WKRJ-FM 91.5 in Dover/New Philadelphia, WKSV-FM 89.1 in Thompson and WNRK-FM 90.7 in Norwalk.
