Steven Brown, emeritus professor of political science and
faculty member in the School of Foundations, Leadership
and Administration, sent in this photo from his family's
vacation in Iceland. Brown says the photo shows tourists
passing through the gap (that is growing by 11cm per year)
between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
"This trench is connected to California's San Andreas Fault,"
he says.
