Posted Jan. 9, 2012Losing weight is one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions and one that is often difficult to keep. OneWellU, the university’s wellness program, is once again offering the Weight Watchers at Work program to help you achieve your resolution.
Weight Watchers at Work includes the new Points Plus program and e-tools to make losing weight easier while still enjoying many of the foods you like to eat. With recent Weight Watchers’ changes to its meeting offerings and payment plan, it will now be possible for faculty, staff and students on all Kent State campuses to participate.
You can also use the Weight Watchers Mobile app with your enrollment in either the monthly pass or online program. This is a great way to help you stay on task using your smart phone.
There is a discount for Kent State employees who enroll in either of the two Weight Watchers offerings:
Weight Watchers Meetings with Monthly Pass
The monthly pass is a good choice for employees at any Kent State campus who want to try Weight Watchers but do not want a lengthy commitment. The monthly pass gives you greater control and flexibility to determine what works best with your schedule. You can attend an “at work” meeting or to take advantage of unlimited access to meetings in your community. You will also be able to use e-tools to track weight, find great recipes and more.
The monthly cost for a pass is $39.95, which is discounted from the price you would pay if you enrolled at a community meeting.
Weight Watchers at Work sessions will be offered on the Kent Campus, beginning the week of Jan. 24. The day session will be held on Tuesdays, from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 313 of the Kent Student Center. The evening session will be held on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 315 of the Kent Student Center. Please note that with the new payment offerings, the At Work sessions will now run continually, with no end date. However, a minimum of 20 members must be enrolled for each class session.
Weight Watchers Online
Employees may choose to follow the Weight Watchers program entirely online for a monthly cost of $19.95. This gives faculty and staff the convenience of following the program at their own pace, from any location. There are tailored websites for men and women, interactive tools to track eating habits and activity and access to more than 1,500 recipes.
How to Enroll
To learn more about the new offerings and register, visit the Weight Watchers online portal at https://wellness.weightwatchers.com/Employees/Employeelogin.aspx. You will be asked to provide the following company information:

Medical Mutual Reimbursement
The incentive program for employees who have medical coverage through Medical Mutual of Ohio will continue for employees who sign up for the monthly pass. Members will receive a $50 reimbursement for every three months of proof of payment. Members are eligible for a maximum reimbursement of $150 per calendar year. There is no reimbursement for the online program.
