The Tech Spot continues to exceed expectations.
Customer satisfaction, measured by surveys and benchmarks from Apple Inc., shows The Tech Spot @ ResNet — Kent State University’s computer care center — significantly outperforming other repair centers throughout the country.

The Tech Spot’s excellent customer service rating is a measure of its Apple Macintosh repair work, factoring in turnaround time, repair quality and professionalism. Through its Apple-certified service, The Tech Spot provides Kent State University faculty, staff and students with quick and convenient on-site repair for personally owned Macs.

The service has become increasingly popular with the Kent State community, due in part to its convenience. “We are located central to most students who live on the Kent Campus and provide easy access to the rest of the Kent State community as well,” says Mike Carson, senior IT user support analyst. “In addition, our repair service usually has quicker turnaround time than that of most Apple Stores or when sending in your system for repair.”

Many services are provided free of charge under the AppleCare warranty, with additional repair work available at competitive rates.

The Tech Spot began offering Apple certified warranty repair last spring semester, as well as other Mac-related services such as software installation and data backup and recovery. It has repaired nearly 90 Macs under warranty to date, ranging from nonworking power adapters to faulty logic boards, and has provided general service for more than 500 Macs this year.

Apple customer satisfaction surveys measure such criteria as repair time, documentation and willingness to provide timely updates. Carson says the results not only demonstrate The Tech Spot’s commitment to a great customer experience, but also increase reimbursement rates from Apple, allowing The Tech Spot to continue offering affordable service in the future.

Taking charge of the repairs are four Apple-certified TECHnicians who have undergone extensive hardware and software training before and after receiving their certifications.

“Since becoming an ACMT, I've had a wonderful experience helping Apple users with repairs and replacements,” says Joe Carioti, a student Apple TECHnician. “It's an excellent feeling helping to complete the sometimes painful warranty repair process in a quick, hassle-free experience for students, faculty and staff.”
