Division of Human Resources Launches Lunch and Learn Seminars, Feb. 28

Posted Feb. 20, 2012

The Division of Human Resources will introduce a new wellness program this month. The Lunch and Learn seminars will be held monthly, with the first one being offered on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at noon, in room 318 at the Kent Student Center. In recognition of National Heart Month, the session will take an in-depth look at heart-healthy ways to eat and decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease. A healthy lunch will be served at no cost to the participants.

The seminar will be presented by Anika Avery-Grant, a registered and licensed dietitian and an adjunct professor at Kent State University at Geauga. She also teaches at Ursuline College, has worked as a clinical dietitian for the past 15 years and has published two books, “The Vegetarian Female” and “Eating Meatless on Dialysis.”

The lunch is limited to the 20 participants. Faculty or staff interested in attending must register online.

Continuing education credits are available upon request. The Lunch and Learn session is sponsored by Impact, which is the university’s employee assistance program.
