Lunch and Learn — Holiday Grief

Posted Dec. 1, 2014

Depression is not uncommon for the bereaved during and following the holiday season. During this time, individuals are often left with little support. It is important to have positive coping strategies and be able to anticipate situations and specific dates that may trigger intense emotions.

For Kent State University faculty and staff members who may be struggling with holiday grief or know someone who is, the Division of Human Resources will be hosting a lunch and learn on this very topic. This session can help those who may be experiencing a heightened struggle with grief or perhaps help you support someone you may know who is grieving and experiencing difficulty during this time.

The presenter will be Julia Ellifritt, LISW-S, and the lunch and learn will take place on Dec. 4 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Heer Hall Training Room. A complimentary light lunch sponsored by Medical Mutual will be provided.

Registration for the lunch and learn is required, and you may do so by clicking on the Holiday Grief Registration link.
