Posted March 9, 2015Heritage Ohio is proud to announce the 2014 certification of Kent as a National Main Street Community. Kent became a member of the Main Street program in 2007 and continues to revitalize the historic downtown district.
Main Street Kent is being recognized as proficient in the 10 criteria set by the National Main Street Center. This designation is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the Main Street Kent’s Board of Directors, staff and volunteers.
“Kent has made tremendous strides since joining the Ohio Main Street Program and has become a model community in terms of revitalizing downtown,” says Jeff Siegler, director of revitalization at Heritage Ohio, who conducted the review. “Cities all over Ohio look to Kent to learn how to turn around downtown.”
