Kent State University at Stark Receives Grant to Install Wind Turbine

a $28,000 Dominion Foundation Higher Education
Partnership Grant that will fund the installation of a vertical
axis wind turbine on the campus.

Kent State University at Stark was awarded a $28,000 Dominion Foundation Higher Education Partnership Grant for the Campus to Career: From the Liberal Arts to the Energy Sector program.

The grant will fund the installation of a vertical axis wind turbine that will be located next to the Kent State Stark Sciences Building, which is currently in construction and scheduled to open in fall 2015. The wind turbine will benefit students in several disciplines, including biology, geology, education, geography, mathematics, physics and psychology.

Wind Turbines of Ohio, located in Alliance, Ohio, has been contracted to install the vertical axis wind turbine, which will support Kent State Stark’s continued dedication to the innovative and educational use of clean and green energy.
