Open Enrollment Benefits Fair to Provide Benefits Information for 2011

The Division of Human Resources invites all Kent State University employees to an Open Enrollment Benefits Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 204 of the Kent Student Center.

Faculty and staff will be able to meet with representatives from the university's medical, dental, vision, insurance and other benefits-related vendors for 2011. Employees are encouraged to come to the fair to gather all the information they will need to make their decisions for Open Enrollment, which will run from

Oct. 17 through Nov. 8 this year. A partial list of vendors includes:

  • ClearCreek Financial Group - 403(b) plans
  • Delta Dental
  • EyeMed Vision
  • Healthy Life Screening
  • impact Solutions
  • Kent State Women's Center
  • Legacy Financial Services - long-term care
  • Medical Mutual of Ohio
  • Medical Mutual FlexSave (FSA)
  • The Standard Insurance Company
  • Student Recreation and Wellness Center
The event will also feature healthy lifestyle information, presentations from selected vendors and samples of healthy snacks. More information is available by contacting the Benefits Office at 330-672-3107 or benefits@kent.edu.

The fair will run in conjunction with a Kent Campus flu clinic for faculty, staff and their eligible dependents (age six and older). The clinic will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Room 206 of the Student Center. Registration is required for the flu shots and you can sign-up at www.kent.edu/hr/benefits/fluprevention.cfm. If you are enrolled in one of the university-sponsored group health plans through Medical Mutual or Anthem, the cost of the flu shot is fully covered by the plan. If you are not covered by one of the university's group health plans, the cost is $20, payable by cash or check.
