Kent State Employees Share Summer Vacation Photos
Posted Aug. 10, 2015Kent State University employees shared some of their favorite summer vacation and staycation photos with e-Inside.
Cynthia Smith, administrative assistant for the Aerospace
Studies Program, and her husband recently visited Ohio’s
Hawaii, or Old Man’s Cave, in southern Ohio. Pictured is
the lower falls, which is close to state park campground.
Smith says the landscape is spectacular and the more than
six miles of hiking trails are easy to navigate.
Elaine Robinson, assistant to the vice president for
institutional advancement, snapped this photo early in the
morning on the beach at Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Robinson says this is a yearly vacation for her and her
husband. "Nothing but sand, sun and relaxation. My dream
vacation location," she adds.
Albert Reischuck, lecturer in the Department of Art,
submitted this photo of his 12-year-old daughter Ava at
Chenonceau during a trip to the Valley of the Loire and
Paris.

Heidi Weisel, administrative clerk in the College of Nursing,
spent some time in Masara, Kenya, supporting Bonyo's
Kenya Mission, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary
this year. In this photo, Weisel does fluoride treatments on
primary school children at Masara Primary School, Kisumu
County, Kenya.
Heidi Weisel, administrative clerk in the College of
Nursing, holds a softcup demonstration for 8th grade girls
in Masara Primary School. Weisel says, "I love the look on
their faces the moment that I would tell them this is an
‘insertable device that can be reused for up to five years.’
This is an unknown concept for most girls in the area of
Masara, Kenya, but was very well received."

Craig Zamary, a professor in the
Entrepreneurship Program, rode with the
Cleveland Indians team in the Velosano.org
Bike to Cure two-day ride. Zamary
exceeded his fundraising goal, raising more
than $2,000. Zamary says that all monies
raised by VeloSano Bike to Cure participants
benefits cancer research at the Cleveland
Clinic.
