The Division of Human Resources invites Kent State University employees to the fourth annual Open Enrollment and Wellness Fair on Monday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.

During the fair, employees will have a chance to meet with representatives from the university’s various benefits providers for 2013. This includes not only the university’s healthcare providers, but also representatives from companies that offer financial, retirement and supplemental life insurance options for faculty and staff.

Rachael Decker, the university wellness coordinator, says the fair is an excellent opportunity for employees to get the information they need to make their decisions for Open Enrollment, which is Oct. 14-26.

“Employees have an opportunity to learn about their benefit options and find out about the wellness resources available to them,” says Decker. “We will also have a preliminary summary of the results from the employee wellness survey, and information about the new faculty and staff blog that focuses on wellness topics.”

Also during the fair, employees can watch a live cooking demonstration at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.by a chef from Kent State Dining Services, and sample healthy foods. There also will be foot screenings available from the College of Podiatric Medicine.

Flu shots will also be available during the clinic, but registration is required. There is no charge to employees covered by one of Kent State’s medical providers. Registration is available online. If the Oct. 15 clinic is full, you will see a list of other clinics in October and November.

Those who attend the fair will also have a chance to win raffles prizes such as an iPod Shuffle, designer sunglasses, Sonic Care toothbrushes, gift cards and more.

A list of participating vendors is available online. You can also contact the Benefits Office at 330-672-3107 or benefits@kent.edu or Rachael Decker at rdecker4@kent.edu.
