Kent State University’s Division of Human Resources and the Department of Recreational Services are excited to present the FlashFit MOVChallenge, a 90-day fitness friendly competition that pits faculty and staff against students. Participants can join the MOVChallenge Kickoff Celebration on Monday, Jan. 26, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

The kickoff celebration will feature photo opportunities, a free Zumba class and a variety of free healthy snacks. Colored MOVbands also will be raffled off every 10 minutes during the event. Kent State President Beverly Warren will share brief remarks during the celebration.

The FlashFit MOVChallenge officially begins Feb. 1 and runs through May 1. Faculty and staff can register for the challenge and obtain their MOVband (if one has not been previously received) by completing all of the required registration steps at Faculty/Staff FlashFit Registration.

Participants in each group who meet the monthly goals, tracked using a MOVband (a wrist-worn monitor), will be eligible for prize drawings at the 30-, 60- and 90-day marks. In addition to the 30-, 60-, and 90-day prize drawings, the grand prize winner for the faculty/staff will win an iPad mini with retina display and a $25 iTunes card. The grand prize FlashFit MOVChallenge winner will be announced at the end of the competition. A travelling "Golden Arm" trophy also will be awarded to the winning group.

As a bonus, faculty and staff who are members of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center who join the MOVChallenge will receive a $50 household credit to be applied toward any fitness and or wellness-related program or service. All other faculty/staff participants will receive five guest passes per person for the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The passes and credit must be used by May 1.

Faculty and staff from Kent State campuses are encouraged to participate in the FlashFit MOVChallenge. For complete details and to register, visit the Faculty/Staff FlashFit Registration website.
