Important Message Regarding Student Class Registration

Registration
The deadline for adding full-term courses is Sunday, Sept. 11.

As we begin the new semester, the registrar's office asks for your assistance in making sure that all students are properly registered for their Fall 2011 Semester courses.

As per university policy, only officially registered students are permitted to attend courses. The link to official class rosters is found in FlashFAST, under the "Faculty Advisor Toolbox" within the "Faculty and Advisor Tools" tab. Students who are not officially registered within the appropriate time period WILL NOT receive a grade or earn credit for the course even if they attend the entire course and complete all required work.

The schedule adjustment period for students to add full-term courses ends Sunday, Sept. 11. Students are able to withdraw from any or all full-term courses through Sunday, Nov. 6. Deadlines for courses that meet outside the full part of term can be found on the Detailed Class Search. To access the Detailed Class Search, visit the Registrar's website at http://www.kent.edu/registrar/, click the Schedule of Classes quicklink, and select Fall 2011.

Instructors are asked to remind students that it is important to finalize and verify their registration within the proper timeframe. After the published deadlines, adjustments in registration will only be considered for review by the Office of the University Registrar in situations where students have fully complied with their responsibilities.

The deadline for submitting midterm grades (for freshmen only) and final grades can be found on the Registrar's website at http://www.kent.edu/registrar/calendars/index.cfm.

For additional information, please contact Jeff Gardner, associate registrar, at jgardn11@kent.edu.

Kent State Football Season Ticket Base Continues To Grow

Football Tickets
Football season ticket sales are up 37 percent from the
same week in 2010.

Kent State’s concerted efforts to market and raise awareness of its football program continue to show dividends at the box office.

As of Aug. 10, football season ticket sales were up 37 percent from the same week in 2010 when the athletic department was in the midst of its inaugural 90KSU campaign. The number also represents a 120 percent increase over the identical time period in 2009.

“I believe these numbers clearly demonstrate that people are discovering that Kent State football is an affordable, fun-filled, family destination,” says Kent State Executive Associate Athletic Director Tom Kleinlein. “I think we introduced a lot of new fans to Golden Flashes football last year and many of them are not only renewing their tickets, but also bringing a few friends along as well.”

That last statement is evidenced by the fact that renewals are up 11 percent and new sales are up 22 percent over the same period last year.

“Our pregame Fan Experience in the field house and ample space in the parking lots give people two great options on where to tailgate before the game,” says Kleinlein. “And once the game starts, there isn’t a bad seat in the house. We look at it like Kent State football offers almost six hours of fun for a great, low price.”

The Flashes kick-off the 2011 season under first-year head coach Darrell Hazell on Sept. 3 at Alabama, before returning home to host Louisiana Sept. 10 at Dix Stadium. Season ticket plans start as low as $30 for a six-game package. For more information, call 330-672-2244.
