Kent State University at Stark

Familiar Face

Job Description:
The Corporate University provides organizational and professional development training programs and customized services to area businesses and organizations. I would describe what I do as providing administrative support to the director and sales staff in the sale and execution of training programs, projects and events. I prepare client/facilitator contracts. I coordinate program/event logistics (e.g. material development, editing, preparation, set up, location, av, etc.). I manage facilitator information and coordinate the biannual meetings. I submit programs for approval through the Board of Executives of Long-Term Services and Supports (BELTSS) and HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
Worked at KSU since:
May 2004
Employment Prior to Kent State University:
I worked for the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) through the Department of Natural Resources/State of Ohio. I also worked for Coleman Professional Services and the Ohio State University, Berea Children’s Home and Junior Achievement.
Likes Most About Kent State University:
I like the atmosphere of learning and development that exists here.
Attraction to Kent State University as an Employer:
I know the impact that college had on my own life, so the opportunity to work for a major university, with the strong reputation that Kent State University has, was very appealing. I wanted to be part of what Kent State does for its students and the community.

Hometown:
I was born in Massillon, Ohio, but my father was in sales and at the age of five, we began moving to accommodate his job. We lived in Massachusetts, Michigan and Missouri before coming back home to Ohio.
Education:
B.A. in Communication Arts from Eastern Nazarene College
Hobbies:
I’m the worship leader/choir director for the “traditional” worship service and sing in the “contemporary” worship service at my church. Spending time with my family and trying to tire out my sweet, silly, ever-so-energetic puppy – Sophie.
