HR Question of the Week

HR Question of the week

Do I need to complete Open Enrollment if I am not making any changes to my coverage?

enter photo description
The Open Enrollment period for employees and their
dependents runs through Oct. 21.

If you are not changing benefits programs, you do not need to complete Open Enrollment. Your current (2011) benefit elections will roll over to calendar year 2012. However, if you wish to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for 2012, you must complete the Open Enrollment process and make a contribution election. Your 2011 FSA elections do not roll over to the next year.

Even if you do not wish to make any changes, faculty and staff are encouraged to log in to the secure Open Enrollment website and review your current elections, to make sure you are selecting the best coverage for you and your dependents. You can access the site through the MyHR tab in FlashLine (in the Employment Details channel) or through the Open Enrollment website.

Open Enrollment runs through Friday, Oct. 21. If you have further questions, call the Benefits Hotline at 330-672-MyHR (6947) or benefits@kent.edu.
