HR Question of the week

What is the purpose of the activity cameras at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center?

The activity cameras at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center have been active since September 2012. The idea and installation of the cameras was funded by student government.

Faculty and staff who spend their lunch break at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center can use the cameras to check the level of activity. The cameras are available to community members and students on the university website.

This is convenient for employees to plan their workout according to availability. The cameras are standard definition and slightly blurred, so individual’s identities remain anonymous.

The activity level cameras are the fourth most-viewed page on the Student Recreation and Wellness Center’s website with an average of 4,500 views per month.
