HR Question of the Week

HR Question of the week

Are there any OneWellU fitness programs offered this fall?

Yes. This fall, One Well U offers the One WellUWalking Program and Weight Watchers at Work.

Walking Program
The OneWellU Walking Program is for those who are looking to advance their health, wellness and activity level. Participants will receive a pedometer, an online portal to track steps and weekly newsletters to stay motivated. Participants can walk at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) track from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The cost is $15 for students, $20 for SRWC members and $25 for non-members.

There are two sessions this semester, each lasting six weeks. The first session is underway and runs through Oct. 10; the second session runs from Oct. 24-Nov. 28. Register for both sessions and receive a $10 discount. You can sign up at the SRWC.

For more information, please contact Rachel Decker, Recreation Program coordinator, at 330-672-0475 or rdecker4@kent.edu.

Weight Watchers at Work
Losing weight can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. OneWellU, the university’s wellness program, is expanding its popular Weight Watchers at Work program by offering day and evening sessions this fall.

Weight Watchers at Work includes the new Points Plus program and e-tools to make losing weight easier while still enjoying many of the foods you like to eat. This year, the program will be available to students, as well as to faculty and staff on the Kent Campus.

The day session will be held on Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 13, from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 313 of the Kent Student Center. The evening session will be held on Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 14, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 315 of the Kent Student Center.

Each session will run for 17 weeks, ending the week of Jan. 9, 2012. The cost is $175, which can be paid in full or in three installments. There is an incentive program for employees who have medical coverage through Medical Mutual of Ohio. Information on the program is available on the OneWellU website.

Registration will be done online – please see the links below.
