What expenses are covered/not covered under my tuition waiver benefit?
Full-time employees are eligible for a waiver of instructional and general fees up to and including 18 credit hours per semester. The tuition waiver benefit also is available to spouses, domestic partners, dependent children of full-time eligible employees, as well as spouses and dependents of deceased, disabled or retired employees in accordance with university policy 3342-6-09.1.
Part-time classified or unclassified employees who have worked in their position a minimum of 1,250 hours within the previous 12 months before the start of the semester are eligible for a tuition waiver of up to four credit hours per semester for the employee only. Part-time faculty members are eligible for a tuition waiver of up to four credit hours each semester that they teach or the semester immediately following. Tuition benefits are not available for any coursework in the College of Podiatric Medicine or podiatric program.
The tuition benefit is limited to the waiver of the full amount of instructional and general fees normally charged for any program of studies up to and including 18 credit hours of study per semester or its equivalent for summer or special sessions. Overload, admission, matriculation, parking, bus, special course fees and all other fees are excluded from this benefit.
The tuition benefit cannot be used for enrollment in non-credit courses or credit courses that are audited.
If you are enrolled in a program of study with special tuition rates that differ from the standard tuition rates, you will be responsible for any additional charges or fees. Examples include, but are not limited to, Executive MBA, Online Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with concentration in Public Relations, Online Master’s Degree in Music Education.
