Am I able to convert sick leave to vacation?
The sick leave conversion period for staff employees continues through Monday, Sept. 14, and the process must be done online through the My HR tab in FlashLine.
Per administrative policy 6-11.2 regarding conversion of sick leave, eligible full-time employees with a balance of at least 500 sick leave hours may convert a maximum of 40 hours to vacation or a combination of vacation and personal leave.
Eligible classified employees represented by AFSCME who have a balance of at least 500 hours of sick leave may convert a maximum of five days (40 hours) per fiscal year of sick leave to vacation.
Eligible part-time employees with a minimum balance of 250 sick hours may convert up to 24 hours to vacation or a combination of vacation and personal leave. Classified and unclassified employees eligible for the sick leave conversion were notified by email last month about the annual conversion period.
