HR Question of the Week

HR Question of the week

What is Purchasing Power?

Kent State University has added Purchasing Power to its list of services available for benefits-eligible employees. The premier purchase program offers employees the opportunity to purchase name brand products via payroll deduction.

Kent State employees who are benefits-eligible, employed by the university for at least six months, and earn a minimum of $16,000 a year are eligible to make purchases through Purchasing Power. When logging on to the Purchasing Power website for the first time, you will need to provide a group code: use KSU2265.

Items available for purchase include computers, electronics and home appliances. There are a wide variety of brands offered, including Craftsman, Dell, Kenmore, Microsoft, Panasonic and Sony. There is no finance charge or fee. When an employee makes a purchase, the cost will be automatically deducted over a 12-month period from your Kent State paycheck.

Please note that while the university is offering this program, it has no control over the type or quality of merchandise offered. You may address your questions or concerns directly to Purchasing Power at 866-305-3385.

To ensure this new service is valuable to employees, the Division of Human Resources is seeking feedback to assess the effectiveness of the Purchasing Power Program. You may submit your comments to benefits@kent.edu.
