Peter Kratcoski, Department of Sociology, Kent State University at Stark, presented "Prevention and Control of Financial Drimes: A Cross-Cultural Comparison" at the Annual Conference of the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology in Ottawa, Canada, on Sept. 25-28, 2013.
Kiersten Latham, School of Library and Information Science, Steve Friesen and Chuck Regier presented "Open Storage Exhibits for 21st Century" at the Mountain Plains Museums Association in Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 30-Oct. 3, 2013. Summary: “The popularity of programs like ‘Antiques Road Show’ indicates that the public is very interested in artifacts. Museums can show off more stuff, with more information, by revisiting and revising the old open storage concepts."

Stephanie Siciarz, Modern and Classical Languages, authored her first novel, Left at the Mango Tree, Pink Moon Press, (2013). Left at the Mango Tree was shortlisted for the Dundee International Book Prize and was awarded the Kirkus Star for Exceptional Merit.
