Professional Activities

Kim Peer, School of Health Sciences, was inducted into the Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association (OATA) Hall of Fame at the OATA Symposium and awards banquet in Akron on May 11, 2012. Candidates for this most prestigious award are nominated by their peers, making this a most revered honor. Peer is well recognized as a speaker and author. She has presented locally, statewide and nationally. Physician and Sports Medicine, Journal of Athletic Training and Athletic Therapy Today are some of the publications where her articles may be found. She is widely recognized for her presentations and articles on ethics education, especially in the field of athletic training. She is co-author of Professional Ethics in Athletic Training, which is the first of its kind for athletic training.

Paul Gaston, Office of the Provost, was a panelist on the panel, "What Constitutes a Quality Degree and Its Purpose: A Look at the External and Internal Forces,” at the Western Academic Leadership Forum’s annual meeting in Phoenix, Ariz., on April 19, 2012.

Tameka Ellington, School of Fashion Design and Merchandising, and Stacey Lim, Department of Psychology, presented “Adolescents’ Self, Social and Aesthetic View of Hearing Aids or Cochlear” at the Fashion and Health Symposium at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minn., April 20-22, 2012.
