Floyd C. Dickman, School of Library and Information Science, a children's literature specialist, presented Outstanding Picture Books of 2010 at Bluffton University's Marbeck Center on Nov. 4, 2010. Dickman is a founding board member of the center.

Mei-Chen Lin, Ph.D.; Rebecca Cline, Ph.D.; Jeffrey Child, Ph.D., Communication Studies, presented Too Many Questions, Too Few Answers: Understanding the Role of Uncertainty in Coping With a Slow-Motion Technological Disaster at the American Public Health Association's 138th Annual Meeting and Exposition in Denver, Colo., Nov. 6-10, 2010.
Henry Van Dyke, Writer in Residence, was on a panel, "Writing Fiction With New York Characters," at the Young Men's Hebrew Association, New York, New York, Oct. 27, 2010.
Steven R. Brown, Department of Political Science, participated in a round table, "Panel Discussion on William Stephenson in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Letter to Nature," at the 26th annual meeting of the International Society for the Scientific Study of Subjectivity, The University of Akron, Akron, Ohio, Oct. 8, 2010.
Publications
Bob Batchelor, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, authored a section of the book Gaming the Guitar: Aerosmith, Metallica, the Beatles, and the Music Video Game Revolution, Rock Brands: Selling Sound in a Media Saturated Culture, edited by Elizabeth Barfoot Christian and published by Lexington Books, (Nov. 2010). The chapter examines the way rock bands use video games for marketing and branding efforts in today's information society.
