Alfred Guiffrida, Management and Information Systems, Thomas Ngniatedema and Peter Reday presented "Modeling Delivery Performance in Make-to-Order Supply Chains" at the 2015 Midwest Decisions Sciences Conference in Ashland, Ohio, on April 23-24, 2015.
Additional Comments: The paper won the Best Paper award at the 2015 Midwest Decisions Sciences Conference.
Marianne Martens, School of Library and Information Science, and alumni Susan Schilling and Sophia Van Der Schyf presented "From Children's Books to Global Citizenship: The Power of Books from Around the World" at the Virginia Hamilton Conference on Multicultural Literature for Youth in Kent, Ohio, on April 11, 2015.
Thomas Schmidlin, Department of Geography, has been appointed by the American Geographical Society as a member of the Editorial Review Board for the journal Geographical Review. The Geographical Review is the flagship publication of the American Geographical Society. The board is composed of internationally known experts in geography and related fields across the United States.
Federico Subervi, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, was elected the first president of the new Association for Latino Media, Markets and Communication Research (ALMMACR), whose mission is to enhance the teaching and research of this growing arena of the field of communication. The association was created by a group of professors and experts from around the country who gathered at Florida State University.
The Northeast Ohio Consortium for Middle East Studies (NOCMES) received the Education Award at the Niagara Peace and Dialogue Awards ceremony on May 18 at the City Club of Cleveland. Co-directors Josh Stacher, Ph.D., Department of Political Science, and Pete Moore, Ph.D., associate professor of political science at Case Western Reserve University accepted the award for NOCMES.
Miriam Matteson, School of Library and Information Science, and Omer Farooq presented "Digging into the Frames: An Exploration of Content and Conversation" at the 14th Annual Information Literacy Summit in Moraine Valley Community College, Palos Hills, Ill., on April 10, 2015.
