Richard Feinberg, Department of Anthropology, was cited in The New York Times on July 21, 2013. Feinberg studies navigational “tool kits” (i.e., winds, waves, stars) used by indigenous Polynesian navigators in the Solomon Islands.

Ralph Lorenz, School of Music, presented "Health Benefits of Singing: A Perspective from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chi Kung?" at the Phenomenon of Singing International Symposium IX in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, July 7, 2013.

Richard Feinberg, Department of Anthropology, recently returned from a three-week expedition to the Solomon Islands where he served as an ethnographic consultant in making a documentary film dealing with environmental sustainability on the Polynesian island of Anuta. Anuta is a remote island that is typically visited by outsiders no more than once or twice a year. The film is being created as part of a project titled “1,000 Days for the Planet,” sponsored by the Sedna Foundation (a Canadian non-governmental organization) in collaboration with the United Nations Secretariat for the Convention on Biodiversity and the government of Quebec.
