Marcia Lei Zeng and Karen Gracy, School of Library and Information Science, presented "Creating Linked Data within Archival Description: Tools for Extracting, Validating, and Encoding Access Points for Finding Aids" at the DH 2015, International Conference of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO) in Sydney, Australia, in July 2015.

Brian Peters’ Building Bytes was named the winner in Fast Company's annual Innovation by Design Awards in the category of 3D Printing. Peters is an assistant professor in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. Karen Hillman, director of marketing, communication and public relations for University Libraries, and Kenneth Burhanna, assistant dean, University Libraries, presented "From Zero to Friends-Making in 30 Months" at the Academic Libraries Advancement and Development Network in San Diego, California, on April 19, 2015.
Summary: Kent State University Libraries took a dormant, basically non-existent fundraising program and started over, making friends, creating internal and external buy-in and developing a strong foundation for future development and advancement opportunities.

Ryan Claassen, Department of Political Science, authored, Godless Democrats and Pious Republicans? Party Activists, Party Capture, and the “God Gap,” 1st Ed., Cambridge, England: Cambridge University Press, 2015.
Summary: The book challenges a conventional wisdom in which recently mobilized religious and secular extremists captured the parties and created a God gap, and produces a new way of understanding the religious divide in American politics.
