Steven R. Brown, Evaluation and Measurement, presented "An Overview of Q Methodology: With Special Reference to Popular Culture" at the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association in New Orleans, Louisiana, on April 1-4, 2015.

Rebecca Meehan, School of Library and Information Science, presented "The Evolving Role of Applied Social Scientists in Health Informatics" at the Society for Applied Anthropology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on March 26, 2015. This was a refereed presentation.

Marianne Martens, School of Library and Information Science, presented "Digital Youth Research Network: Defining the Field, Building Connections, and Exploring Collaborations" at the iConference Workshop on Exploring Gender, Race, and Sexuality with Social Media in Newport Beach, California, in March 2015.

Summary: This was a pre-conference workshop Martens co-organized. She also served as a reviewer ahead of the conference. Co-organizers were colleagues from the University of Washington, the University of British Columbia, Rutgers and the University of Copenhagen.

Laurel Myers Hurst, Kent State University at Geauga, was awarded a $5,000 GRAMMY Foundation Preservation Assistance grant to benefit the El-Dabh Sound Art Project, which enables assessment of the long-term needs of the Halim El-Dabh collection. El-Dabh is a Kent State Professor Emeritus and internationally renowned composer. El-Dabh pioneered the fields of electronic music composition, sound art, ethnomusicological research and black studies. He has retained a vast quantity of audio- and video-recorded concerts and field research. Completing organization and annotation of his collected life's work while El-Dabh, at 93 years of age, can provide insight and guidance is critical for future analysis of 20th-century musical literature.

Gina M. Severino, College of Nursing, Kent State University at Trumbull, became board certified (December 2014) by passing the Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist certification exam.

Marianne Martens, School of Library and Information Science, authored "Evolving the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Children's Video," which was published on the official blog for the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), on April 11, 2015.

Susanna Fein, Department of English, authored, The Complete Harley 2253 Manuscript, Volumes 1-3, Kalamazoo, Michigan: Medieval Institute Publications, (2014-15).

Additional comments: Fein was editor and translators were David Raybin and Jan Ziolkowski. This publication is a multivolume edition-translation of London, British Library MS Harley 2253, one of the most important literary books to survive from medieval England. In rarity, quality and abundance, its collection of Middle English secular, religious and political poetry is unrivaled. A good deal of its other contents have not been printed previously. Modern English translations of the non-English contents were prepared collaboratively by Fein with David Raybin of Eastern Illinois University (for the French) and Jan Ziolkowski of Harvard University (for the Latin). All three volumes (1,429 pp.) are also available in digital editions published by Robbins Library Digital Projects, University of Rochester.
